  报告人简介:

Hugo Gramajo received his Ph.D in the University of Rosario in 1989 and then spent 4 years at the John Innes Centre for his Post-Doc in England, working in the genetics and physiology of antibiotic producing organisms such as Streptomyces. He came back to Rosario to become a Professor of Bacterial Genetics at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology of Rosario (IBR), National Council for Science and Technology (CONICET) in Argentina. In 2002 he did a sabbatical in USA working as a Director of the Biology Department at Kosan Biosciences, a Biotech company that developed new anticancer and antibiotics molecules based in polyketides natural products. At the moment he is a principal investigator of CONICET and head of the Physiology and Genetics of Actinomycetes lab at the IBR. The main interest of the lab is the study of lipid metabolism in actinomycetes bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Streptomyces andRhodococcus and the production of new lipid derive compounds in E. coli.
